The Nepali Students of Batch 2014 and 2015 celebrated New Year with 27 children of Annapurna Orphanage on 13th April 2013.
The MCOMS bus brought the children from orphanage at 10 am after which we played “Fire in the mountain” and “Musical chair” with the children. All the children enjoyed thoroughly. This was followed by a health educational program “Clean Hands, Healthy body”. A treat with snacks was followed aptly by a session on “Right way to brush the teeth” by Dr. Diwakar. Toothpaste and toothbrushes was gifted to each child. A treat with ice-creams brought more joy to the children. The supervisor Mrs Sarala Basnet was highly appreciated this interaction and program.
I would suggest all students of MCOMS to visit the orphanage and especially check out the requirements of the children written on a white board which is the most unique feature I liked about the orphanage. I was personally very delighted to see the smiles of children on the auspicious occasion of the New Year. It would be really great to do more for the children. I would lastly like to thank Dr Gokhale for granting us permission for holding this event as well as managing the bus service.
