Manipal Teaching Hospital supports Pokhara aged shelter

Manipal College of Medical Sciences and Manipal Teaching Hospital have been in forefront of shouldering corporate social responsibilities by various activities. The Pokhara Agedshelter at Sita Paila is an institute that offers shelter to aged population. Presently more than 60 elderly residents are availing this facility. MCOMS and MTH have been providing health cover to all these residents since many years. A team of doctors visits them periodically and attends to their health care issues. When required, the residents are referred to the hospital and are provided specialist care. Dr A L Sharma, Prof, Dept of Community Medicine and Dr S Gokhale, Director Basic Sciences, MCOMS in collaboration with the Lions’ Club have facilitated this arrangement.

A special thanks giving event was organized by the Pokhara Agedshelter to commemorate the 50th Health Care Camp. The Director of MTH, Dr Vijay Kumar Singhi also attended the program and reiterated continued support of MTH to this noble cause.
