A program to familiarize the graduate students of Prithvi Narayan Shah Campus, Pokhara with the ASM was organized by the Dept of Microbiology, MCOMS on 19 March 2018. Graduate students and Faculty members of the Prithvi Narayan Shah Campus, Pokhara participated in the program. Dr C P Thapa, Campus Chief, Prithvi Narayan Shah Campus, Pokhara was the chief guest for this program. He stressed the importance of being in sync with the developments in various fields of science.

Mr Dharma Raj Bhatta, Asst Prof, Dept of Microbiology, MCOMS explained various aspects of ASM and the benefits the members can draw through ASM resources. Mr Supram HS, a recipient of ASM travel grant shared his experiences with the participants. Dr Dipendra Hamal, Lecturer, Dept of Microbiology, MCOMS and Dr Nisha Baral with Mr Indra Bahadur Thapa guided the students in navigating the ASM website, registering and becoming member of ASM. The students exhibited keen interest with number of questions, 55 students and 5 Faculty members attended the program. The program was facilitated by Dr S Gokhale, ASM Country Ambassador for Nepal with the help of Mr Krishna Gurung, the Head of Dept of Microbiology, Prithvi Narayan Shah Campus, Pokhara.
